Choi Oh-Jong

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the obesity and disability in Korean adults compared to gender and to provide basic data for establishing welfare policies for health promotion including obesity for the disabled. This study is a secondary data analysis using the National Health check-up database from 2010 to 2013. To analyzed relationship between disability and obesity through propensity score matching analysis (PSM) method ten characteristics demographic, health-related, lifestyle-related characteristics according to gender. In men, there were no significant differences in body mass index (BMI) before and after matching, but in waist circumference (W¡¤C) before and after matching. People with disabilities were more likely to have an abdominal obesity of 1.072 times than those without disabilities. In comparison of the relationship between obesity and disability in women, the body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference (W¡¤C) were significantly different before and after matching. The probability of obesity (BMI¡Ã25kg/m2) was 1.551 times higher, the probability of extreme obesity (BMI¡Ã30kg/m2) was 1.880 times higher, and the probability of abdominal obesity was 1.532 times higher. Based on these results, in order to increase the sustainability and effectiveness of obesity prevention and management, it is necessary to include people with disabilities when implementing policy. Policy intervention is required at each stage. Because based on the health inequality model, in order to prevent the disabled from going to unhealthy results
